Started a new thread regards to streaming ... a post said managers and up who have reports will have meetings this week to go over the procedures to layoff Has anyone heard anything ??
Has anyone heard anything from TR DD or VH with any sort of numbers ? They seem like the ones who would know for certain.

In another thread a SVP posted that they will lay off 12 and they know who....
Anyone hear anything about marketing for P+ Streaming specifically under TM -DD -TR ?

I've been through layoffs in the past that were all surprises. Some were the week before Christmas, due to the end of the fiscal year. At least having a heads up gives you a chance to prepare mentally, and workwise.

That is just how this played out. Names for the August wave were submitted July 3rd and names for the September wave were submitted July 31st. Remember you don't just put a name on a list and fire people it has to go through an HR and Legal review which takes time given the size of the reductions.

In August it was immediate boss in my division -whether manager or Director etc
My boss had to do some and he was told by his VP first the names and then he met with HR over details. He did know before the weekend. He didn't tell me I was safe but he implied it the day before by saying next month and other items.
One HR was in meeting although that seems impossible for Tuesday . He sent out invites that am after work began for meetings in a couple hours ;he said no one seemed surprised by then.
Upset certainly not surprised by the method I mean.

You're right. Today's only Thursday. I thought this week was over last Tuesday. The longest week in my entire life. This is the strangest handling of layoffs at all levels I've ever witnessed in my entire career which spans several decades.

So who can be expected to conduct the layoffs, your immediate manager even if they're low level managers, or a manager above them?

In August layoffs , the person doing the actual layoff of their reports was contacted by HR to go over procedures the couple days before and how to do it - meeting invite what to say etc... whether that was a Director or Manager or higher ..

You must mean department managers, EVPs or higher, disseminating to their team managers, SVPs or higher.

Manager here. No notices regarding any meetings of any sort to review procedures, etc. having to do with this.
