This is a real post, not AI composed or fear mongering. These events occurred in the US Metro West location.
I know of at least half a dozen people who Dell identified as "essential workers" Tier 0 during the covid pandemic that have been let go during this WFR round. These people came in every day and worked onsite so that others didn't have to. They lost their assigned desks when the building went through reconfigurations. They lost the pool, gym, cafe, and experienced a reduction in onsite perks like vending machines, coffee, water bubblers, and even trash removal occasionally. But they still came in, we still were able to stay home, and Dell still prospered.
The purpose of this post is to say THANK YOU to them and to bring awareness to others. So remember these folks when you leave your family in the morning to come badge into an office, in the hopes you won't lose your job. As clearly the sacrifice they made and the risks they placed on their families during the pandemic, were not appreciated by the company.
Will yours be?
