Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel is the latest Fortune 500 giant to test the ‘4 wrong CEOs’ rule.

Elevating a post by @vft+1u7Jlv68. This is a really good article:

I think Intel is on the fifth bad CEO in a row. PG, BS, BK, PO, and CB. All of them made some critical mistakes.

I think that intel is in stage 4 of the decline but an argument could be made that it is already in stage 5.

In How the Mighty Fall, he identifies five stages of decline:
1 - hubris borne of success
2 - undisciplined pursuit of more
3 - denial of risk and peril
4 - grasping for salvation
5 - capitulation to irrelevance or death

Everyone on this board complaining about Pat being brought back. The truth is, no one wanted the job. BS wasn’t supposed to ever be the CEO , but they couldnt convince any of the real talent to take the role. PG is the best intel could get.

It is not the CEO fault. It is drowning since its products named after artificial lake names that I cannot find on google map. Where the fu k are these lakes located? Cannon lake, Tiger lake, Coffee lake, Ice lake, Comet lake, Meteor lake, Luna lake etc …?

Mobile Chips for smartphone
Nor Flash memory

The board of directors made a mistake bring back Pat Gelsinger

CRB was responsible for the first one.
BK for the second step. Especially when it comes to more money for his own pocket.
BK again on number three for not understanding the risk of not fixing the 10 nm and 7 nm transition failures.

PG sure knows how to preach the salvation narrative... Step 5 is unavoidable barring outside geopolitical events - Intel is on a path for an Enron/Worldcom style scandal with all the financial engineering ongoing.
