Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel’s last profitable quarter is in the rearview mirror

Yes I know no reason we can’t make profit fabbing chips at TSMC

Intel 4, 3, and 20A are all unprofitable by design
Intel 18A is supposed to return us to profitability, but on the back of a fab network we’re busy putting on ice. No scale => no profit

So the profits aren’t EVER coming back

Bummer that

Intel's last profitable quarter?
It's a lost profitable quarter
If you can barter, I will barter a blast quarter
Alas! carter - take me to the blast quarter
It was so past and long lost!

It’s like Monty Python’s Holy Grail where they tried to build a castle in the swamp

We tried IDM 1.0 and that sank right into the swamp
And IDM 2.0 sank right into the swamp
And IDM 3.0 sank right into the swamp
But IDM 4.0! What a successful business!

come on guys, Pat is too proud to admit that foundry is a mistake... he is obsessed with this idea regardless of the costs.

@1nja haha, as if INTC designs are competitive with AMD or NVDA. Most of them are pet projects which are already available in market with less cost

Split design into its own fabless company to unlock a sh!t ton of value.

Sell off the fabs.

You can bet some hedge funds are running the numbers and will do hostile takeover and kick out the clueless management.
