Thread regarding VISA Inc. layoffs

We truly can't afford to lose more people

I'm not sure who makes these decisions, but we might find ourselves at the point where we literally won't be able to get the work done soon. We've already been decimated and every person on my team has seen their work at least double in the last few years. We can't take any more hits. If they get rid of anybody else, they might as well get rid of all of us.

I don't think management cares how much stress it puts on those who are left, or whether you are now set up to fail. As long as the stock price is what they need, they will get their bonuses and that is the only thing they see. Do you really think that the C-Suite people know your name or your concerns? And once the stock price allows it, they will hire those positions back at a much lower salary and fill it with people who will have no idea how to do stuff but will work 60 hours a week to try, and will die early of a stroke due to the stress. And the C-suite people will keep selling their stock and making money off of the sweaty backs of the people who do the work. Corporate greed for the win! Set up notifications for whenever Visa insiders sell stock if you don't believe me.

I was doing the work of 2 or more people since 2023 and contemplating leaving. I received the BEST summer gift no regrets. Not only that the person who decided to eliminate me had no idea of the tremendous behind the curtain work I was doing, now they are dealing with cracks.
