Ridiculous to expose something as important as oil/gas to the same internet that thugs can hac- into. Need to dump microsoft etc. and use independent communications company wide. Easy to do.
"Certain company systems"?! More like almost all. An employee said they are pretty much dead in the water and can't do anything but email and teams. Halliburton is definitely down playing the situation.

In a statement issued after the news broke, the multinational corporation, which has a hand in most of the world's largest fracking operations, said it was “aware of an issue affecting certain company systems”.
It added it was “working diligently to assess the cause and potential impact” and had “activated our pre-planned response plan and are working internally and with leading experts to remediate the issue”.
However, Halliburton has so far declined to describe the exact nature of the incident, or even formally confirm that a cyberattack had taken place.
Certain company systems...uhhhh....like what core software system that most companies depend on could they be referring to? LOL. At least we can still receive stupid teams messages. This pre planned response seems to be working exactly as planned. Keep that stock price from going down so ole Jeffy can keep getting paid millions.
Don't worry about IT and ransomware, Bob or Bill from India or Singapore will get er done. Drill baby drill into those servers' hard drive and flush out the virus with drilling mud. Or was it the S4 upgrade that took down the servers?
