Both Plaza towers are re opening, there will be plenty of space. We laid off 1,000 people back in 2020, don't think we've re-hired anywhere near that amount back. Campus will still be "empty" compared to the good ole days.

Are there enough seats left at North Belt to accommodate everyone being onsite at the same time now? I don’t work at that location but have had to visit there a few times in the past couple of years and there is a lot less space there now than there used to be.

For those here that are truly unhappy with this harsh 5 day return to office policy, go check out some of the smaller competitors. They would never normally be able to attract talent like HAL, and they would be thrilled to get some very good technical people from this. Already engaged with two companies and they traditionally are in office full time but are saying they can be flexible and open to hybrid work, in fact, they care more about getting good people and results than butts in seats.

What a sh---y way to reduce headcount. Company is so greedy. Also cyberattack was an inside job because of how bad employee sentiment is as result. I have proof. I’m leaving and taking all my coworkers with me.

Yea lol.. looks like they are literally trying to come up with reasons as to their reasoning behind it. What a sad executive board we have. If you go on the FAQ they even said if you moved out of state you'd have to move back and they woudnt be helping financially, what a joke. This company is about to go downhill real quick and I'm honestly glad to leave and get a new role

Love how nonchalant the email was, like hey guys we thought about this real carefully. It's time to come back to the office 5 days a week because you know those water cooler talks is where innovation happens. Just get ready, we are about to really get going now!

Time to head over to the competition..

"If you make the time to do it right, your employees will be more engaged, more productive, and more connected, even when they're miles away," Keith Boyd, a Microsoft IT senior director, wrote in an August post about the hybrid-work approach. "And they'll be far less likely to leave for a competitor who has a more sophisticated and flexible model than you do."

Email will go out to everyone tomorrow, at least they are giving folks a few months to go find another hybrid/remote job. This is just pathetic on the part of the executive team. No one wants this. There are forward thinking companies that exist, there are tons of hybrid options out there, contrary to what you see in the news. The government, big corporations, all have their agenda to own you and your time to prop up commercial property values and get tax credits for RTO policies.

How do you know theyr'e still being allowed remote? and why are they being allowed to stay remote compared to everyone else?

by

Post ID: @Evjh+1u7D7WuD

Not true. There are exceptions. They just don’t want most of the people to know of it. I know of at least 3 people that will continue to be remote.

I was told theres no exceptions - all employees must be back in office 5 days a week even if you've moved away.

Any update on this? I'm starting to get interviews for companies but a lot of them are hybrid. I would hate to accept a hybrid role then turns out HAL Nevers goes back in office... Tough spot to be in

Enjoy those small company benefits....I mean see you in the office soon. Only someone in their 20's can think like that. Back to my jet...

It will be a gift to small/mid size companies who will be able to compete for skilled labor by continuing to offer flexibility. This will likely be the trend for a lot of big companies but once the old timers are out and the economy picks back up the strength will be back in the hands of the employees. The only reason this has any chance of going through is economic conditions, why don't you think this wasn't implemented before now? I mean come on, 4+ years delivering exceptional results with hybrid/remote is no fluke. It clearly isn't about results. It is about who's in control and right now it is shifting back to employers and these executives love face to face interaction and being "seen" along with the rest of the ladder climbers.

Every big company is going to do this. Y’all are going to run your mouths on here, and keep working at HAL. I’m getting back on my jet. See you losers later.

Will do! and also make sure to rate all the reviews 5 stars that push our narrative. That way they're seen as the most popular ones - flood it out!!

Guys. Please lets bombard glassdoor with this. And voice our concerns! This will really help

I haven’t noticed this. There is one as recent as 9/12 that is still there that mentions this.

No way..are they really?? This could be our ticket to force them to change their position. We need to all spam Glassdoor and any job/company boards where we can leave reviews. Got to get let people know not to come and to go somewhere where they offer hybrid/remote and treat their employees better!

ATTN! Halliburton is deleting these reviews on glassdoor mentioning that 5 days in office will soon be required! Hmm...wonder why that would be?!

I would encourage people to start writing reviews on sites like glassdoor voicing concerns around lack of flexibility at HAL. We need to get the word out not only internally but externally as well. I am actively applying and every opportunity I'm finding is offering some level of flexibility and hybrid work options. I'm pretty sure anyone who will be looking to come work here will be asking the same questions and we will see not only people leaving because of this policy change, but it will be very challenging to find good people who want to come in 5 days a week for a job that doesn't require it.

Anyone whos coming on here complaining about people wanting to have a flexible work life balance is a straight up robot. You're someone who's either been programmed to put your head down and say yes to whatever your employer says like a good sheep, or you have nothing better to do with your life. Normal humans on the other hand don't want to live 80% of their life in a cubicle - crazy right? Quit being a corporate slave and realize there is compromise in these matters, and regardless if you like it or not, the competitors are doing it so either way HAL will fall behind if they stick to 5 days in the Office. Its a lose lose situation on both angles and you still decided to type out your sad opinion. Keep bootlicking and they'll still fire you whenever they feel like it.. maybe then you'll wake up

How will we compete for new talent if we can’t offer a hybrid work schedule? Our competitors are offering it.

So many whining hybrid workers complaining about returning to the office. If you don't like it move on. There are 20 more waiting behind you to take your spot at a lower cost. Think of all the benefits you will have mental and social health, well-being and human interaction, get out of your cave and move towards the light. Put down the Xbox controller and TV remote. Groom yourselves, brush your teeth and put on some clothes.

This is asinine. This isn't the 1900s. We are a global company working with teams across geographic locations and there is something called the internet now. He-l, even most rig site/field work is moving to remote ops and technology is being automated. We can respect where we came from and still be progressive in moving forward to improve the way we work and live.

The oilfield isn't a sit at home job, and this company wasn't built around cry babies wanting to stay home. Your made up job titles won't be around much longer.

I'm honestly not sure, I saw someone mention a similar situation with FAANG companies and it didn't go through because the employees weren't having it but I'm wondering how they went about it? And yea I mean we could send this thread to Jeff but whos gonna be the one to do it lol. But yea seems consensus is minimum 2 days WFH, we just need to collaborate to get our voices heard. I spoke to my manager and they didn't give two licks, I'm assuming HR would be the next step.

Do you know how we can voice our concerns for it to take affect? I dont think talking to your manager will matter since they dont really control it. Do you know if any groups of people are planning to voice their opinions for it to reach higher up?

Post ID: @lfui+1u7D7WuD

So just coming across these comments and talking with people at the office it seems like the general consensus is we are strongly against this...I have not yet come across a single person who is pro 5 days/week...so what's the plan? Do we just all threaten to quit or voice our dissatisfaction with our bosses and HR? Not sure what to do. We need a compromise, industry standard is 3 days in office, 2 days WFH option.

I wonder what the "real" reason could be... I assume its to get people to quit but like we've mentioned if it was money, why would they opening up both Plazas? I'm really hoping they just do hybrid, I woudn't mind 2-3 days in the office but Mon-Fri is almost barbaric at this point in time.

I think he was trying to give us the “real” reason as to why they are doing a return to office but he held back because it may have caused people to talk. And yes trust me i am really hoping it doesnt go through.

wdym your manager was going to say something? And It seems like they keep pushing back this back in office date so maybe this is due to the ransomware and hopefully allows them to change their minds? Because techically they havent told anyone about this and it was just for the managers to know... lets hope. But yes it doesnt make sense, if they wanted to save money they coudve just let people go instead of opening plaza 1 and 2 and still probably end up letting people go..
