Curious to know if anyone experienced real consequences of not completing 39 days in office last quarter.

Last qtr didn’t count as no one was actively monitoring unless you had that type of manager. This qtr is different, I’ve been told that you should do your best to get to 39 days…could be more fear mongering or part of their metrics to aid in the next round of wfr’s/firing
Pretty funny. Pretty apropos.

I was very sick for two months and took PTO for two weeks so I had 30 swipes and a green check in Workday so no… no consequences that I’m aware of.
someone mentioned that maybe the policy will change to 30 days per quarter, did someone else hear this as well?
For many whether you come in or not you are laid off. Hit your number or miss it... Laid off. Over perform or under perform... You guessed it laid off.
Kiss executive rear end perpetually .. eventually Laid off with no dignity left in your soul.
Whatever you think about RTO, Dell has realized that people can work from home. If I can work from home in the U.S., I can get people to work from home in, for instance, Panama at a fraction of what they pay us in the U.S. This unfortunately is a possible future.
When I read this I'm so happy to live in the EU in a country where there are laws to protect employees. We all had a big laugh when we got Jenn Saveedras email and then it went to the unions. That RTO stuff is inapplicable here and against the law. Especially in the way Saveedra formulated it.
I am guessing that this required % is a higher goal than what is required for tax relief on the facilities.
Where it will probable really matter is when an organization will be required to cut heads then they will look at job performance, pay, LTIs (if applicable), and anything else they can throw into the soup bowl. If you are missing by hefty amount - then you may get called out (PIP / other means). If you are marginal on the RTO requirement it may matter depending on who/how many are grouped into your category.
A company can mandate where you need to show up for work. Where Dell sc--wed up is when they told everyone to work at home AND THEN ALSO SAID how great it was working. Whomever Dell was using as their tax lawyers damn sure didn't know a thing about what the taxation impact would be after the COVID relief expired.
The other thing that is happening is that companies realize as a whole their workforce is just not as productive working remote as it is when people come to the office. Yeah, yeah some people may actually find it more productive for them but as a whole it is not and your manager can't keep an eye on you.
The fact that half the people opted to go remote says a lot. Curious on what the background noise is going to be if they cannot hit the tax benefits - do they start scuttling even more locations?
Good luck all.
all good until they want shed us by running the reports to those of us half-hearting RTO
What consequences? What they are trying to do is basically illegal in my country. When I pointed this out there were a lot of red faces. Absolute id--ts are running this company
It is just so childish for a company to count days in the office. Unless they also give milk boxes and nap time...
I occasionally go to a Dell facility with 100s of seats. I was there for a week and I definitely do not see a lot of people showing up. I think people are rolling the dice on the consequences.
They are tracking it and colour coding employees.
Do you really think it's not going to be a big deal to them if you miss? Really?
I hit 36, took several days PTO days over the quarter. Had no issue. I asked my boss a few weeks before the end of the quarter about how hard that 39 number is since the announcement email was a bit vague. She just kind of rolled her eyes and said “don’t worry about it. You’ll be fine”
