Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Landmark

Is all of landmark gone? I heard only certain territories. I know there were layoffs. Was just wondering if the whole thing is gone?

Current employee with LM here. West is still open for now, looking to continue engaging new members....I'm not sure what the future looks like for our market. I wouldn't be surprised to see LM dissolve by the end of the year, but we'll see.

Management is very tight lipped. Initial visits are harder to get with changes. No availability is more frequent. Members show not eligible on our end but eligible for house calls nurses… this past week the scripter that dials the calls have mysteriously went down the same time each day…I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I just wish they were transparent with us. I believe my teammates know what’s going on, and I hope they are preparing.

It will be gone by the end of year as they transition landmark into optum at home.

It feels like it will be gone soon. They have kept some employees on but no concrete word on what will happen at the end of the year. Multiple changes happen each week.

Some Landmark markets that remained open still have current contracts with insurance companies other than UHC. They had to keep at least some staff in those markets until the contracts end. In one market, 2/3 of its cohort are patients from the contracted insurance. When that contract ends this year, there sure won't be a need for all of the staff currently on board! Logically, it seems, then, that more layoffs are coming, depending on remaining contract dates in markets.

The Landmark name will be phased out at the end of the year, what they do with the remaining landmark employees seems to be a mystery, from what i have seen there is not much more they can cut!! 50/50 whether the remaining people are absorbed or laid off....

I left Landmark last week on my own terms as I watched my fellow behavioral health social workers and medical social workers get laid off. I wasn’t going to wait for the other shoe to drop. I feel sorry for the patients because once the let all the social work staff go then all referrals were stopped and nobody was getting any assistance. How can a company say they are providing a service when they are not! Also I shame the higher social work leadership and behavioral health for not even recognizing the dedicated behavioral health and medical social workers for all there work with the patients and families but they still
Have a job.

I noticed today that I have no initial visits scheduled and I was doing 7-10/week before. It’s so strange how they leave employees to interpret things and you don’t know if your patients will have services in a few months. I am curious how they get the final people to stay on as tokens when they RIF entire roles? Like the handful of physicians and social workers left.

It’s my favorite understanding that Landmark will be absorbed by Optum at home. No it will be no longer

No but they closed 18 markets. Some say it will be gone on 1/1/25.
