Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Never move for a company

Never! I've so far heard of at least two people who were laid off in this round after joining AND moving for GM within the last year. I can't even imagine how devastated those folks are feeling right now, but I also think that making such a move in this day and age is setting yourself up to fail. It's simply not something you should even consider.

Unless it's an executive level position, relocating for anything less (especially for an automotive OEM) is insane to even consider. Don't put your family and livelihood at risk like that. Take a lower paying job, trim your lifestyle, or start your own gig.

I heard the four seasons are beautiful.
There's nothing like a winter bread line by the needle exchange. A garbage can lid can double as ho-o shield and a shelter canopy.
