Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

"unlimited"-PTO shills (AI finally at work?)

Sorry, I'm a conspiracy realist, exactly same posting but different threads, sorry I didn't catch this earlier:

@ziq+1u5rRs1u
@zvx+1u5OoCIW

"Most of the industry has already moved this direction. Is it a boon to the books? Sure. Is it a boon to employees as well? Can be, with the right leadership. I've worked for multiple companies now with "non-accrual" PTO, and never had an issue with taking time off. Reasonable limitations have been in place around holidays, and numbers of team members off at the same time, but I've had no issues thus far... "

Funny how in one thread it was voted mostly up, in the other mostly down.

If Cisco is saving money, that was money that was GOING to be going to employees, but now isn't.

Spot the veggie maths grad.

People for unaccrued PTO refuse to see that there's a tangible benefit that's been removed. Pure copium.

Keeping workers stressed out, overworked, and under rested is a key strategy to being able to underpay them.

You're not insane, I noticed this, too.

Very friendly toward unlimited vacation and arriving today. The temperature previously was tepid at best.

Not AI, I posted it in both threads. I worked for Cisco from 1998 to 2020 - took the ER and moved on. Cisco was the last company I worked for that had PTO accrual...
