Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

Wilmington nc plant

Trying to figure out what's going on, no info being given our plant leader just quit. Getting offered tlows for a whole week. They have combined 2 business units into 1. Our production numbers have dropped dramatically leap went from 24 to 10 or 12 cfm 20+ to 10. 894 military 3 or 4 a week to 1. Passport 2or 3 week to 1. They did a hiring freeze aswell just wandering if anyone has any insight to what going on. Feel like layoffs coming

Word from the cartel is GE will be investing more at the Mex-e-co facility than any other.

I just saw the list. There are 5 sites in the US getting the investment. Wilmington isn't one of them

Look again. Wilmington got over $70 million for investment. $22 million in new machines. The other was used to split Aerospace and Nuclear up as we sit on the same site. Nice try. Kiss those union jobs goodbye.

I didn't see Wilmington in the list of sites getting funding for investment. What do you think that means?

All U.S. manufacturing will eventually be sourced elsewhere. If it can be done cheaper, it will be done cheaper.

Well you weren't in Wilmington at the meeting. GE is actually talking about building on the Wilmington site and bringing military work down from Hooksett. 13% of their work is coming here.

Kiss Wilmington goodbye. Especially if we get a certain business leader that gets the plant leader job. He will destroy that place anyways. He hasn't been there long and has destroyed 2 lines so far.

Wilmington plant is gone. It's just a matter of time. Closed loop machining will only require button pushers in Mexico. 1 Mexican worker replaces 10 American workers. You can thank Bill Clinton and NAFTA for that. GE built a plant in Mexico with a fake name to bypass the government and all of a sudden purchase the plant this year without it ever making the media. Better have a plan in place.

The market is going to crash soon. Get prepared for the worst. This false bubble is about to blow.
