I am not for or against it. Not my point.

I am just saying Dell likes to virtue signal on these matters. All hat; no cattle.

Why should a business have anything to do with the personal decisions of someone? That cr-p should stay out of the work environment along with most politics. That's part of the problem in the US. If you want an abortion, and you live in a state that doesn't allow it, move.

Dell is neither. Just buzzwords they latch onto to virtue signal and appear relevant.

when roe v wade was removed HR sent out a missive about how dell TX was going to come up with a game plan. Some companies right out were declaring they would give employees time off and fly them to states with treatment.

Still waiting on dells action plan ....

Of course the no-skill spreadsheet parrots still believe a diverse workforce means incompetence. The buddy buddy, nepotism, Qanon, low performance, no logic cult at Dell are now calling Simone Biles a "didn't earn it" athlete. Same bigotry, same crowd, different decade. It's hilarious witnessing unqualified low intelligence overpaid data entry employees accuse other races of incompetence.

They use DEI as a buzzword. But I have not seen the new hires in my group follow any of the hiring criteria. That's fine with me, rather have competent people.

DEI is a waste of time and effort, detracts from the mission

I saw AI,metaverse, web3, block chain, "defeat AWS with virtuastream" and dei on Dell PowerPoints.

PowerPoint does not = reality except in the minds of know nothings.

Dell doesn’t have diversity unless you consider a few token white women leaders and an unbelievable number of I Indians who run small mafias around the company. It’s failing because the upper management is playing head count reduction games to ride the AI hype wave with virtue signaling to shareholders that they’re replacing people with AI. We have no AI and no business strategy either. But as long as they can beat the drop with insider trading, they don’t give a sh-t about their employees.

I do think it depends on were in the world the office is , i have witnessed it first hand multiple times in the UK, this came down to hiring people for jobs who have never possesed the sklill, qualifications or experience requierd for the job they were hired for and they never got better but they still still kept jobs and even premoted in some cases,
Another great example is STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in Dell it was only women that were invited, when STEM is for everyone.
i do also remember it in a power point as mentioned by another poster.

Its absolute madness

I did witness masses of non-minority incompetent buddy and nepotism hires run dells profit margin into the toilet.

EMC was notorious both for buddy management and nepotism. Yes I can say the same - i have seen both running EMC through the years. I would not say those were the main reasons for the demise of EMC but they definitely were contributing albeit minor factors.

@1xug+1u3XsZYg And yet what data is public shows that they didn’t do that. Not only did they not do that, but they are one of the worst companies when it comes to sharing minority statistics. And I promise you, if they were such industry leaders, they would be trumpeting that all over the place. The PR is the only reason they are even talking about it.

Few years ago they gave us a "moonshot" goal of hiring 75% minorities and women. I know because it was in the PowerPoint before we started interviewing. It's not a joke what OP is saying.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a serious subject, not just a buzzword. Only stupid trumpers don’t believe in these values, there’s no room in business for such ignorant, closed minded attitudes.

Nope, DEI was a buzz word. Very few minorities and almost no black people were placed in high positions. I did witness masses of non-minority incompetent buddy and nepotism hires run dells profit margin into the toilet. DEI is a scape goat. Blaming people who were never even employed for failure. No accountability from no-skill gullible Dell Qanon tin foil hat hats.
