Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Low-quality leaders of this organization, am I alone?

Feeling like I'm the only one experiencing this:

The worst part about working in a bad organization like BD is to work for a weak manager who gives in to pressures from his/her peers while neglecting the needs on his/her team. This type of manager just takes all the wins of his/her team to get favors from upper leadership and doesn't truly have their team's best interest in mind. Those on their team feel taken advantage of, not given enough credit or recognized, and what makes it worse, others around are also taking credit when they do the least amount of work. Why should someone stay in such role and put up with this? F that...

This is where I am at in BD, "leaders" pull these political tricks. These so-called "leaders" need every win they can get to save their own behinds to meet their KDGs because they're weak. Incapable on their own. And will do everything including lie to get their way. These are some of the worst types of people you can meet in the industry, two-faced snakes.

Wonder what will happen when more capable people start to leave? Who will end up doing the work or will the higher ups just play musical chairs with each other so someone takes the fall? I hate coming to work and hate the trash managers we have in leadership roles. Please lay me off BD I am so done with this

I agree! The managers and supervisors at BD NOW are some of the worst. They micromanage due to their own insecurities and self doubts. They try and prevent their associates from advancing within the organization and are constantly trying to control them. They dictate what time they can start their shift while other associates are able to start at their discretion. They are constantly riding and questioning your every move. I used to love to come to work now it’s a struggle just to make it in everyday. They promote people that aren’t qualified for the position. They don’t train you. They expect you to learn it all on your own. They claim to be a transparent organization but are just the opposite. Upper management doesn’t even acknowledge their associates. This company is a wolf in sheep’s clothing!

Bad managers also prevent their team from shining so they hoard the glory for themselves. It also prevents their team from being a threat to themselves. Very sad situation.

Exactly the same in my are. I no longer care and don’t say anything any more. Just going through the motions til I’m laid off while they run it into the ground. BD getting what they pay for, the minimum. These great leaders can take credit for everything that happens but it will no longer be at the expense of my hard work. Lay off can’t come soon enough.

Hence why I left, it’s a terrible organization with the wrong people steering the ship. I’ll tell anyone who will listen about how bad it is.

We don't have leaders. We have managers. Many who are micromanagers because they are weak and don't know how to be effective. This comes from the top and works its way into the local sites. Run the good ones off until you are left with new green people that wonder wth they got themselves into or the shell game. Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle.
