Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Indoctrination

Want to see what a cult mindset looks like? Go into any "Purpose Corner" (eye roll) article on The Source" and read the sycophantic comments. Eventually they will all be wearing purple shrouds with the company logo branded on their forehead and worship before the golden statue of Bill Rogers. All hail SunTruist! (Drinks the purple Kool aid)

It isn’t indoctrination. It is people brown nosing their way through their job to get ahead. It is nauseating to read the comments. Thing is if you could really comment anonymously those comments would overwhelmingly be different.

The good news is you can leave and work someplace else so you don’t have to be subjected to indoctrination - get your resume updated and start looking

They keep sending email “recommending” you that you have not recognized X in 2/3 months and that it is time to recognize them, creating a culture of participation trophy.

LinkedIn is the biggest one in this category! All these supposed leaders travel from one place to another on company’s dime and post pictures and write stuff(LinkedIn-fans models). And then follows all the army of sheeps liking, subscribing and commenting to get noticed and gain browny points. They have this unofficial contract of appreciating each other on these platforms. LinkedIn has become a siht hole of a place.

Almost all of these types of comments are from teammates in the field, I'm fairly sure that some of these areas are told that making comments will help their career (read this is required). I do know that some district managers have set goals of a certain number of comments that need to be made each month, of course these would tend to be positive, hence it reads like a cult mindset. Most of these people are just wanting to keep their jobs and think this will help.
Now just waiting to see how many pieces of flair are required.

I find the Purposeless Corner comments hard to stomach, especially seeing how fake and cardboard the person is delivering the message. It's like watch a JV cheerleader do a cringe worthy dance routine and listening to people tell her how graceful and elegant her performace was.

That is until they are let go or they don’t get paid what they “deserve”. They will then come here to btch. These kind of people post comments just to get noticed.
