Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

New employment thread

CommScope? More like 'Comm-Nope' because that’s the answer to any hopes of a promotion or raise!

In 2 weeks, I'll be out of here but I wanted to share some resources with my fellow disgruntled CS employees. This thread is intended to bring us together and share recommendations on where we might consider pursuing our next opportunities.

Here are some companies to look at. Please share additional resources if you have any.

  1. Juniper Networks
  2. Nokia Networks
  3. Prysmian Group
  4. Huawei Technologies
  5. Corning Incorporated
  6. Ericsson
  7. Belden Inc.
  8. TE Connectivity

Look in the industrial industry, they need network engineers like 10 years ago.

I’m sure everyone is looking but I've applied to several places, and here’s where things stand:

Extreme Networks: Interview in progress.
SAP: Interview in progress.
VMware: Reached the final interview stage but then got rejected.

Hopefully things go well and I don’t have return back to this page.

I’m out (EMEA) since one year.
Ericsson and Nokia will also be difficult they are also in consolidation phase (except E in US probably).
Everything fiber in Europe looks quite promising and datacenter I guess. Belden has been hiring CommScope people last year, Prose former Rosenberger have new structure in Europe and have been hiring since beginning of the year, also from CommScope. Because of the acquisition Amphenol not really an option I guess.
Huawei also difficult in RAN, enterprise could be an option.
Overall job market still difficult, layoffs across different industries.
The definite recommendation is watch out and not wait until you have no other choice.
