OP is correct on this! Worked there since ‘97 and retired in June. Best decision I’ve ever made. I loved the quad ruled notebooks referred to by another poster!
@qpq+1u1NUKVw: Completely agree with you. The old guard encouraged healthy technical conflict which led to discussions. Someone I used to work for maintained 20 years worth of lab notebooks (the National quad graph notebooks with maroon covers if anyone remembers). I was even in one meeting where a PE said, and I paraphrase, "if we cannot meet this so and so standard, I will tell the customer that we cannot sell it - so work on it and make it meet and beat". That is some integrity plus brass cojones.
Life is not always fair but sometimes you get lucky
"magical thing to get a package right when you are ready to retire". TOTALLY agree. Sadly, for most people the timing isn't that fortuitous.
It's a magical thing to get a package right when you are ready to retire. Better than a gold watch (yeah right like you get anything) and lame retirement lunch. LOL
Q last hooray was when it won the iPhone contract which was back in 2008. Anyone who joined post 2008 has never been apart of Q’s start up culture where millionaires were being minted every week with stock options. All the good people with a start up spirit left years ago!
