Thread regarding Kellogg layoffs

Worried about my Job

As a Kellanova rep, I am really concerned what will happen after the Mars deal goes through. Mars already has reps in Walmart. Are our jobs safe?

The immediate savings will be in the elimination of dividend payments, as Mars is not a publicly owned company. Add $1B back into Net Rev and this looks like a good deal for Mars. Doubtful they would acquire Kellanova’s snacking business and then rely on their own team to further develop that segment. They need the expertise of Kellanova folks in place. Maybe on the frontline an elimination of some of the third party brokers but I don’t see a significant reduction in staff, especially the closer you are to the customers. Agree that any changes probably wouldn’t happen for at least a year after closing.

They have already started layoffs at Kellanova.

Well the deductions analysts already lost our jobs, we were told they are laying us off this year in May and moving our jobs to India. This was a solely Kellanova decision not as a result of the Mars acquisition. So If that’s anything to go on I think this will be very bad for the remaining employees.

You guys are misinformed. Mars does not have Reps, they are all 3rd party .... .

Outside of acquiring the brands the real money to be made is in savings and reducing redundancy. The candy category is a different animal than salty, bars and frozen for retail. There are bound to be many let go in all levels of the new Mars company after the acquisition. History shows that the company acquired bears the greater burden of headcount reduction unfortunately for us at Kellanova.

Hope for the best but have a backup plan. With the deal to be completed mid year 2025 in all likelihood the reorganization will most likely start in 2026 - so we all have time to come up with a plan. Best of luck to us all!

I have heard Mars looks at both companies and takes the most talented for the roles unlike other companies. I know it's hard to be optimistic but you may end up just fine and even happier. Hang in there. I know it's tough as I work for Kellanova as well.

I’m with you 100% on how you feel, I’m very worried about my job also. Mars already has their own workforce and reps. Not sure how all this will play out but I think I feel like everyone else in the company that we basically got SOLD OUT. This move has been planned for years, we have pushed through all the changes over the past few years only to yet again be fearful of our jobs. It’s ridiculous and I’m mentally exhausted
