Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Cowards...

Announcements from countless VPs, Presidents, etc. about layoffs. Even a page created on Sharepoint providing a directory of all the announcements...Yet, not a peep from our awesome COO Jeff Clarke. Nothing from Michael Dell. Heck, we were supposed to have a town hall with the leader of Professional Services this morning and he conveniently cancelled ("we can pick this up in mid-September"). Nothing reassures your team, that just suffered heavy losses, than not addressing them.

Same BS on RTO changes. Silence from "leadership". Own up to your decisions. That's part of being a leader, otherwise you're cowards.

The silence from "leadership" and specially Jeff Clarke -is normal for cowards- they're waiting in reclusion for the dust to settle after the latest WFR news. Soon we'll probably see them all wearing one of Jeff's t-shirts that says "Retired - adj. [re-tired] Not my problem anymore."

Jeff is looking for the perfect t-shirt before he gives his speech to the troops, it will probably say - Get Over It

Because there are still more on the horizon. That's basically the game plan moving forward and for the last 2 years.
Bad quarters and nonexistent margins will be met with cost cutting. Rinse and repeat.

They don't care, they don't care about the customers, they only care about their greed.

I spent 24 years at Dell, experienced a number of big layoffs at Dell. But they were always short events. Generally a single day. So afterwards, the execs sent out notices, had town halls, etc.

This current situation is unlike anything that I ever experienced, it seems like it is going on and on. If anything people are communicating on here is accurate, it isn't over. So premature for leaders to do the usual routine. In my opinion, completely incompetently planned and executed. During these events, morale is always horrible, but it's like they don't care about what the morale is afterwards.
