Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Is anyone else here optimistic about the future of Dell Technologies?

I've noticed 10-15 npcs post this 3 paragraph "woe is mee...aww shucks, we lost a lot of good people, we should do our best to help them" message on LinkedIn.

It looks like something written by the Dell com dept, seeing as it is both out of touch and completely astroturfed. Anyone else seeing this?

And they are not reposting someone else's post, they are all saying the exact same sh-t like some re--rd NPCs in skyrim

Don’t forget the other euphemisms. …”I like our chances; we have a winning hand”

Sell the storage division and free DELL from onerous and not beneficial responsibility!

No. It's more performance than substance. The reorgs only serve to "inflate" the bottom line temporarily.

Good companies that have futures invest in the employees and company. Dell has done nothing but disinvest.

Do more with less is not the battle cry of a successful global corporation, it's a slogan for a low-grade detergent.

Companies need commodity hardware. Dell will be around. Dell's foundation is to take the inventions of others and glue them together cheaper than everyone else. Or simply copy the industry. Dell will never experience exponential growth like Tesla or amazon because innovation has never been a pillar at dell.

The lay-offs are nasty, and I feel VERY sorry for the people impacted, but Dell has always proven that its reorgs led to bigger things i.e. growth and personal wealth.

So there is no data, nor facts, where you can base an analysis on where the future of Dell potentially doesn't looks great.

Having said this, history has also proved that becoming #1 is (relatively) easy, but staying #1 is hard. And competitors is gearing up FAST, look at some 'no-names' companies taking share from Dell quickly in PC, Server, and espc. Storage land. And like storage (legacy EMC) or not, it is the highest margin generator for the company. To trouble is on the horizon.

While I believe Dell will eventually rebound from its current challenges, it's clear that the company is going through a rough period. Michael Dell is a sharp leader, and as long as he avoids making moves similar to HP's split or selling off key parts of the business, Dell can establish a new foundation for growth. However, right now, it feels like we're lacking direction, and the silence from the executive level has been disheartening.

The atmosphere internally is difficult, and no amount of corporate messaging can change that reality. Dell has always had a unique internal culture, but over the past 18 months, the absence of clear leadership and an articulated vision has eroded confidence. The latest Tell Dell results reflect this—employees are unhappy with the status quo, even if those results are being spun to present a more favorable view.

The recent RTO mandates and attendance tracking systems have only exacerbated the situation, with many team members now simply going through the motions. Leadership appears focused on maintaining control and shaping the narrative, but the internal culture has shifted, and morale is undeniably low.

My two cents: I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Dell eventually steps back, similar to Bill Gates, at some point soon. Something definitely seems to be brewing.

Those people posting on LinkedIn saying how sorry they are their colleagues got left go are the lowest of the low. Using people being layed off as a means of promoting themselves. The cringeiness of their posts gets dialled up to 11
