Thread regarding Fossil Inc. layoffs

Outsourced

She is the most tenured employee in the company and you are outsourcing her job to India. What a terrible look. Fossil you have shown no loyalty to us but you want us to show loyalty to you. Not one job is safe when India can do it for half of your pay.

Warn Act is in effect for the US people if terminated. Fossil doesn't issue Warn Act notifications as they keep their numbers low enough over the required time frame so they don't have to. This is also likely why the terminations are spread out and not "ripping the bandaid off", they calculate the layoffs together over x period (over 90 days for example) and if over 50, they would need to issue a WARN filing. So they terminate in many phases and include APAC and EMEA (not under warn act). You can keep an eye on the WARN notices filed in Texas (HQ), but doubt you see anything from Fossil. Even a HUGE layoff (as posted here) could be a lot of non-US people/stores/DC's.

We had this post a couple of weeks ago, saying that there's another layoff on the way: https://www.thelayoff.com/post/@3zvm+1tVSHPpG

I'm not sure what I think atm. I'm guessing that they're going to try and coast under the radar and do a lot of small scale layoffs in phases so that they don't have to publicly report it or something.

What hit my team certainly hasn't been reported.

They will outsource anything they can. As many have already said Fossil is no longer moving upward. It's sinking and you should move on if you have any sense

What department or position did this employee work? I understand not saying her name for privacy. I just want to know which departments and job roles are being replaced by India.

Whoever posted as “Clues” is clueless. Probably a “leader” at Fossil.

In the end, she was one of many loyal Fossil employees who got let go, and it all seems to come down to A&M's personal preferences. This definitely raises questions about how effective A&M Consultants are as leaders. Just take a look at our stock price, it's not a good sign!

Sending the jobs overseas to add a few extra bucks to all of the VPs end of year bonus. How about make making those that do half of their work because of hybrid schedules reduce their pay by half. Big savings.
