Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Those over 45 should be worried

Some of the rest might end up being collateral damage, but we all know who this is aimed at.

It’s a random and incoherent process that has nothing to do with performance and everything to do with your age, job grade and DEI profile. My line manager was slotted into a GM role with no qualifications; she tanked the business and took us all down the drain with her.

The nervous ones on this board know they are not performing .... it is a healthy process ....

This company- like any other- does not give two Sh$ts about you or your performance . The ONLY regret I have working for these A-holes is how, at one time, I thought they cared. I learned early- 10 years into a 26 year career- that no matter how many nights and weekends you work, no matter how much value you bring (I made the company $86 MM on a 3-year contract)- just one example- they will cut your throat for a nickel. Don’t ever EVER lose sleep or go above and beyond for these people.

52, been with Shell for almost 18 years. Not worried. Bring it on!

Everyone should be worried. The 20% cuts are just the start. Wael won’t stop there, he only cares about short term share price and keeping a few fund managers happy - oh and his bonus.
