There's been rumors circulating for a while now about coming layoffs, supposedly happening in Sept at the latest. Any news?

I am your compliance father’s work girlfriend. He is shaken up because we romped all day.
My Dad in Compliance actually came home pretty shaken up today. He wouldn’t elaborate even though I recently moved to another group. Seems like something will happen soon. Might slow down my high level overviews of some workflows if they’re going to axe me.

The business is collapsing they have way too my VP and above draining revenue with little or no value add and GenAI is going to destroy our digital strategy and investment. They brought in the Roger “the grim reaper” and the other grandpa’s because the women weren’t getting it done. Watch out because when Abby gets upset heads roll and heads are definitely getting prepared to roll like never before. My guess is 20% percent headcount reduction.
I was a temp last summer and got hired because my Dad is in Compliance. It’s not one of the bigger groups but he confirmed rumors that a Fall layoff is definitely coming.
Luckily I’m not client facing. Those reps are such jerks and unhappy. My squad just meets to go over workflows. But change is coming.

My organization is asking for multiple new heads as we can't keep up with demand.
I think it’s always been rumor but it does seem likely with the business model evolution getting finalized. Managers don’t know until right before you do though. Unless someone in the actual planning of the layoffs tips us off, we’re not going to know.
