Thread regarding Salesforce.com Inc. layoffs

Salesforce's Values vs. Reality

How can this company dare to be so dishonest as to not even follow its own proclaimed values?

Salesforce’s core values:
Trust: Trust is the foundation of Salesforce’s relationships with its employees, customers, partners, and communities. By promoting transparency, honesty, and reliability, Salesforce builds and maintains strong bonds across its entire ecosystem.
[Salesforce’s core values](https://www.salesforce.com/blog/salesforce-and-hawaii/)

However, the reality is that two entire offices no longer hold any value to this company, and it’s clear that everyone working there will be let go. Yet, instead of being transparent, ELS chooses to keep these employees in a state of uncertainty and distress.

This company claims to care about the well-being of every individual, but its actions show exactly the opposite.

Inspired by the concept of ‘Ohana, Salesforce prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and the well-being of every individual.

If you care about your well-being and seek a place to build a long-term career, Salesforce is no longer that place. Here, employees are afraid to speak the truth, fearing retaliation.

To say that this company deserves to be considered one of the best places to work is, at the very least, a farce.

Employees are noticing more than rows in the spreadsheet. Now, write it 100x on the board.

Ohana culture (invented by Benioff) is a marketing scam; don’t fall into it; he must had met some woman in Hawaii who gave him this idea, while on dr-gs

I wish I was as idealistic as OP once was. Corporations are not fraternities and not a single one has your best interest in mind.

There are no greener pastures or more value-based companies. No one gives a rats about you. That's not to say you can't have a good work experience at __________ company, but you are but a commodity and all commodities get more dispensable over time.

Agreed. The primary goal of corporations is to put as much money in the pockets of their owners as possible. The only way to keep a healthy power balance is for workers to organize.

Stop being bitter, we are all in this for ourselves. We all know values mean nothing especially for Fortune 500 companies.

Shareholders’ profit maximization is the only goal. We had our run during Covid, now we just need to endure the bad times and stop hoping any sizeable tech companies (still with great benefits) would take care of you and guarantee your security

Which offices are you referring to?

I think those internal to SF don't take these values seriously any more. Trust has been broken in many ways, especially in the last couple of years.
