Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Mess up to move on, the MPC way?

I’d love to know perspectives on this. When a Grade 15,16,17 or 18 doesn’t do well in a job, we make up a corporate spot for them, let them keep a huge salary and essentially put them out to pasture. Why do we do this, is it to avoid lawsuits? If a grade 10 or 11 performs bad we just get rid of them is my view. Not sure why we are so inclined to hide our bad leaders in the other grades

it is called "hush hiding'. the higher positions have access to info. the bottom scrapers do not. firing them would risk letting truths out. better to promote and keep stocks aloft. not right but it is common in some industries.

Decisions on grade 15 and above are made by grade 19s who are biggest cowards in company. New CEO has chance to make this company a great place..no more good ole boys club.
