Since we're losing some essential people - at least in my team - somebody will have to do their jobs, and I doubt they're going to hire anybody to replace them. So guess who'll be responsible for getting things done from now on? If you're among those left behind, no matter how heavy your workload is, things are about to get worse.

Then quit and let someone else who appreciates being employed take your position. You sound like a problem employee. If you are an hourly employee ask for overtime. If not, then on your next 1:1 with your leader go through how you are going to prioritize your workload to get things done that need to be done. If you can't or are unwilling then go to our competitors and be their problem to deal with.
