Thread regarding Optum layoffs

We shouldn't be having layoffs at all

Optum was the biggest driver of UHG's revenue growth in the quarter, posting $62.9 billion in revenue, an increase from the $56.3 billion logged in Q2 2023. Revenues at Optum Health and Optum Rx, the company's pharmacy benefit manager, were both up 13%, respectively.

Time to get a UNION in here people, to save those that remain and new workers. Corporate America is pushing us in that as our only recourse. I will not work to await layoff. Sorry. Not a way to “live”. A—holes.

I started in 2009, this company has not ever come close to being revenue neutral, they earn billions every quarter. That’s not revenue, that’s earnings! So start making some noise about all the executive compensation and mgmt bonuses they give themselves but understand layoffs are because they see you as an unimportant replaceable resource. Insurance is such a cash cow they have just been absorbing all the turnover and training. Any other company would have canned the leadership for all the expensive failed initiatives and rework of the offshore work product. But UHG can afford to just throw money at their problems, that’s why you are being laid off from a profitable company! Sorry but my remark is pi----g me off, fu-k UHG/Optum!

Read the latest amount lost due to all the security issues. They feel posting that today will justify the amount of layoffs whenever.

It’s hilarious that the layoffs always follow a fireside chat where Witty shares all the great outlook of the company and how things are looking so bright and cheery for the future. Then the stocks rise because of the Great News, but meanwhile he’s sitting on the fact that he’s about to ruin the lives of thousands of employees, just smiling away talking about how great everything is.

Don’t you hear in the fireside yesterday…. We have to think about who the bosses are… our shareholders need this. Change Helathcare is a thing of the past and they did an amazing job handling it… shoutouts to Legal, etc.

When the company does well, the employees are rewarded with layoffs. That's how it works.

When the actual reimbursement of the executives is stock being 3xs their actual salary this will never change

I couldn’t believe the ludicrous amount of space c level pay took up in the annual stock holders voting packet.

How do you think they haven't missed a Qtr since 2008 as Whitty was proud of in his Fireside chat
