Stop working more than your regular hours, stop volunteering to help with things that are not your job, and stop working on weekends/holidays, among other things. I've seen so many people who were burning the candle on both ends for work be laid off without a second thought. Those are the people you're giving your all to. For your own good, stop it.

Same I worked here over 20 years. Worked my butt off, OT, worked weekends, late nights, first one there last to leave and what did I get in return, laid off. I was told it was business need.
You are 100% correct in your statement. At this point it has nothing to do with your performance. They have targets to meet and will do what they need to in order to meet those unfortunately.
Quiet quitting

Work/life balance
Bingo! Key is treat it like you are an actor and sell the perception of value. It is all pretend. If you bust your a-s for something that wont be visible stop doing that nobody cares. Remember if you are an acquired company there is new sheriff in town all bets are off and any promises are null and void. Hide in the woodwork and dont make trouble. If you believe a union boss enjoy being a useful id--t. Union had its place but they got greedy and are in bed with the corp types they are not your friend either. They just want the hand in you pocket for dues. Been there done that was teamster and communications worker of america. If you low seniority you get the cr-p til someone dies or quits regardless of skill
I listened to the Prez of the Teamsters Union last night and it was rather refreshing to hear a person of power speak of WORKERS FIRST.
Agree. Work hard but maintain healthy boundaries. I worked for an acquired company for over 20 years and was laid off shortly after the acquisition. The sad part is I was one of those people who had worked nights/weekends/and holidays when needed literally for decades.
Looking back, I feel badly I had worked so much only to be Rifed in my 50s. This company does NOT care about you and to think differently is a fools errand. My prior boss was a “nice guy “ but it mattered not when the decision came down from above to decimate our team.
Lesson learned and I only wish I could have known this 20 years ago as my family would have been my focus, not being a “road warrior” and all that stuff which, when looking back, isn’t worth it for no job security.
