Hiring at TD- Jobs

Hi- What's the deal with the jobs on the TD careers site? I see tons of jobs being reposted, and no-one is reaching out to people applying. Are they looking for unicorns or do the jobs not really exist? What's the ket to getting a job at TD ?

Two years ago one of the TD big wigs asked me to apply for a job there, so I did. A month later the recruiter called me to schedule an interview with the hiring manager. To prep for that call I went back to the TD job board to look at the posting. Imagine my surprise to see that I'd been marked as "Not Qualified" in the system. No note or email, but marked off the list. After my call with the hiring manager, my status changed to "Offer Made". It was two weeks before the recruiter called me with the offer. It was good pay bump AND a sign on bonus so what the heck, I took it. Wish I'd stayed at my old job.

The TD careers site is a joke. The positions are posted and people put the time into applying only to get ghosted or rejected without even so much as an interview. Then others waste time with 6 or 7 interviews only to have the position disappear or be told they are going in another direction. They have filled positions with people who were laid off for a reason and it is a huge pass the parcel mess. Qualified candidates are overlooked in favor of recycled low performers and diverse candidates who aren't as qualified but that doesn't matter since they can check a box or 2.

i agree with the comment below if you are part of the diversity teams and your manager is part of the diversity team., you will promoted faster, get awards and bigger bonuses. Allegedly, and I work there

The key to getting a job at TD is to be a diverse candidate. Actual qualifications don't matter. And if you can twerk with the rest of the drag queens, even better. This place is a disgrace and caters too much to the LGBTQ2+ community despite the demographic numbers to justify that level of support.

Regrettably, many of the newly available fully remote positions are being filled by employees from outside TD who were previously deemed redundant and obsolete at various large firms. It seems we are repeating past mistakes rather than learning from them.

We are going into the 3rd quarter and our team is still in limbo. Half our team is gone and we still don't know what we are supposed to be doing. Projects are getting canceled , resources from other teams I have work with are gone and no replacements are proposed. This has got to be one of the worst corporate restructuring for the books. If I was doing my Phd I would be using TD restructure as my thesis. I hope everyone left is enjoying the new TD Tower in Toronto

There have been several "changes in direction" over the past several months as they continue to layoff resources.
