Seen a lot of post about that VMware will be cut to 7k. This is absolute garbage, just ignore.

Everyone is told what they need to know only. This is the chinese model
Exactly, Sr. Directahs don’t know the details of their P&L.
If you are not at the table you don’t know. So stop speculating. There was the number 8k that was thrown around in the early days but hock could have changed his mind and decided on more or less, and timeline. It could be work in progress for all we know. Just stay and collect RSU if you want. If not.. there is really nothing much out there now. I will recommend you play no CD e and hope to collect check for another 24 months
How many people do they really need to keep life support on a hypervisor?
actual number is 4.5k
They will merge some units together when they merge another software company acquisition coming before year end
All forward looking statements are for entertainment purposes only. VMware is doing beyond our expectations. All of VMware is above the line of doom. We expect it do much much more in the future. To the moon. lol
No one know jack shiiit. If anyone is giving any details of the future then that is coming out of their rear end. Dont waste time su-king diiickk. This is true up and down the chain. Just do your work. You will know when you need to know.
Get that resume updated and comment on LinkedIn posts as much as possible to generate exposure for your next job. Don’t wait
Hock and team had 18 months before the acquisition to plan the layoffs. The layoffs will happen like clock work every quarter. Like Jamie Dimon would say, it is the responsibility of the employees to take care of themselves. If an employee collapses on their desk that is the problem of the employee. The company has no responsibility to take care. If you lose your house or if you have to leave the country then it is your problem. Hock is ready. Are you?
No one knows. Everyone is told what they need to know only. This is the chinese model. Don't trust any number from anyone.
10k is more realistic. Anyone who denies this is full of sh-t!
I expect VMware to start slow growth in 2025, but not as before Broadcom acquisition. 7k is bs indeed.
