I received a box from UPS stating I need to return my laptop within 5 days. Guess I’m getting laid off on Thursday. I’m a SW with Landmark. This is off the charts disrespectful.

It was probably for your phone. At least I hope that was the case. Either way their response was incredibly insensitive given the current layoff culture.
My manager went to health services upper leadership and they had no answers. I called HR and they were clueless, they transferred me to IT. I just received a new phone and asked if the box was for my phone (my manager received one today for her phone) and they said if it was for your phone the enclosed letter would have said so. I then mentioned how alarming this is since we all know people are being laid off on Thursday and then he said well keep the box for a little while 🤦♀️
A SW in my market had the same thing happen a few weeks ago and when she reached out they told her it was a mistake and to disregard.
Wow. Just. Wow.

It would’ve been better if your leader had gone to Health Services Upper Management, IT, or directly to HR for answers. National SW Leadership is clueless.
My manager spoke to upper leadership in SW and they are looking into it. I’m in Texas.

The same thing happened to me about a month ago. I had received a new Optum phone,which came with a small box to return it in,along with a label. Then a week and a half later I received a laptop box, with instructions on how to send my laptop and all my equipment back. I was freaking out. I contacted IT and they told me it was for phone. If I had an old Landmark phone I had to use the small box, but if it was an old Optum phone I had to use the laptop box! Ridiculous!!
Wow! This is a new low even for Optum. Blessing in disguise trust me. You will find a better job, with better pay, and somewhere where your talents are respected. Stay strong
Wait…you haven’t been terminated or RIF’d. You haven’t received any notification prior to receiving the box?! That’s insane!!! What did your manager or market leadership team say?
