Is there a waiting period due to severance, if it's allowed?

There’s a 6 month waiting period for US positions if you were laid off and received severance.
what's with this come back when you know what it's like to work here
I believe the answer is yes. However, I was looking at my record of employment (I am Canadian) for tax purposes after I was laid off. The reason given for ending my employment was 'shortage of work' and the expected date of return was 'not returning'. I looked at all my other ROEs and regardless of whether I quit, was laid off, end of season/contract, etc. the expected date of return was 'unknown'. 'Not returning' sounds pretty ominous, like they would never hire me back. In the end it doesn't matter to me as I don't want to work for Dell again, but just putting it out there.
Managerin Sales POV: No, not interested in rehiring those who were WFRd (Per HR).
better question is why would you come back
I was re-hired after wfr so yes it can
Not sure if it still works this way, but Best outcome was to get rehired (aka bridged) after the severance period but within a year. Job grade and salary were still in the system like you never left.
Again, this was a while back and very well could have changed.
You pay back a prorated amount not the full amount. If you get 12 weeks severance and you get rehired after 4, you owe 8 weeks back to Dull not 12.
Yes you’re allowed to reapply but if it’s during your severance period you’re required to pay it all back if you’re rehired
