Thread regarding US Foods layoffs

Layoffs

People leaders and devs got the boot in the tech space as a part of a company wide "realignment" with senior leadership goals. Record performance and stock price yet layoffs. Not a good sign for this company, can't imagine what would happen if performance/profits were to go down. Seems like corporate greed at its finest.... Curious how widespread these layoffs are and who else got hit... Documenting for posterity.

Flitman is a sociopath in its truest form. He does not care about anyone but himself. He has single handily destroyed the soul of this company. The people are widgets to him and he doesn’t even talk to the employees (he is too good). Dude flys a private jet and has a private security detail that follows him around. Meanwhile he lays off people that have given decades of their life to the company and sends the jobs to India.(we should tariff the labor) . Not sure how this man has a family but I can’t image a human being wanting to be around him. Best this he can do for us foods is leave. Says he has an ax to grind with PFG cause he got looked over for the ceo role for George holm. Meanwhile holm is taking his lunch everyday. He will leave when he has nothing left to take from the company and those who are left will have to clean up his mess. Makes millions to do a job any id--t could do. Raise prices and cut jobs. That is worth 13 million a year.

I was part of the layoffs in June, got a warning under the table in April that my job title was about to be obsolete, and corp. was working to lay me off while the VPO tried to get me a new job title. Welp. 9 years, made it through the failed merger, was essential during all of COVID, scored excelling in every performance review, and worked Operations where jobs are usually untouchable. Performance doesn't mean a thing to these people. It's all about your job title.

Who did you hear from that more layoffs were coming in Q4? Anything on which teams and when in Q4?

Someone told me more to come in Q4. Not sure if it’s true, but seems likely. Really unfortunate.

I am one that was affected by this "downsizing". They have taken entire departments and given the jobs to people overseas in India. They have shut down at least one division. It is way more than a couple hundred people that have been laid off. Between the end of 2023 and to current, more like a couple thousand with more to come

Wow. Didn’t realize around 1k in 2024. Unreal. Is it really that high?

There have been rolling layoffs every few months, and under 200 people are affected at a time so the total number doesn’t hit the news. It has to be near 1k total for 2024. The CEO is known for deconstructing companies and will likely leave soon. Corporate greed at its finest.

WARNING - to all female executives at US Foods who travel to India. Women are ra--d in public (airplanes
buses, trains, and taxis, etc) with nothing being done to the ra---t. I am sure this isn't the only human rights issue with India.

In the big picture with US Foods and all the other companies that layoff Americans let me thank you all (NOT) for helping turn The United States of America into a 3rd world country all over feed the greed.

More layoffs? Heard from a colleague that additional people may have been laid off this week.

ONLY about 150 people were impacted, so may not have met threshold for WARN reporting with everyone being dispersed.

Been going downhill for awhile now. No longer a great place to work. You Matter and We Care ring hollow when none of management's actions match the actual day to day toxic environment. I wonder how much they are going to pay Newsweek to stay on their list?

Been at this company for several years and this layoff is unusual for my time here. Apart from the failed Sysco merger and Covid, this is one of the worst I’ve seen at recent times. None of this makes any sense at all.

Our stock prices have gone up by almost 20% and we hit ATH not too long ago. We have been improving margin in the last four quarters but the expectations were set so high than usual that they have to “cut costs”…

I do believe this is all corporate greed. Why is Dave Flitman getting paid $30 million a year and have a private jet?

I am one of the layoffs and I worked for USF as a contractor for 18 months, and was converted to a FTE 1/30/23 only to have been laid off as of yesterday only 1 year and 5 months (approx) later. An utter and complete shock as I had just received 2 company recognitions for my "great work" and my manager claimed to have had no clue this was coming. Where does 1 go to look to see if the WARN act has been triggered by these layoffs??

I also did not see a WARN report, looked for one. Are they able to get around it due to people being in different states? Maybe not meeting the minimum threshold in a single state? Saw a lot of managers leaving yesterday. Some didn't do much anyway. Some were surprising. Cemented my feelings of not going to management, and staying where they need me to fix things when they break.

Is there a WARN notice anywhere??? HR, Tech, Dev, Talent Acquisition as well I heard. This kind of appears to be a cash grab to keep prices inflated until Q2 earnings are shared in August, or a way to mitigate a steeper drop in price by taking these actions now. Very unfortunate to see so many people who were and are making a difference in the company let go, and the less expensive and bluntly less effective individuals get to remain.
