Thread regarding Intuit Inc. layoffs

That sounds like such a blatant lie from Intuit.... There’s no way they have 1,000+ employees “not meeting expectations”...

Just saying...

For seasonal employees, there is a set amount of people who get marked as DNME based on their stack ranking. Say the DNME cutoff is 25%. It would be easy to move that bar up to 30% to rate more people as DNME.

Yep, the goal post move was undisclosed. Manager told me directly that he did not rate me as an underperformer and was ‘shocked’ to see my name on the list.

Sasan’s words about paying out bonus are empty as I found out there will be a zero bonus for my work in FY24. Zero? I did nothing to help move the needle for the company? Lies! Deception!

Even a rating of ‘Does not meet expectations’ qualifies for up to 50% of the bonus. So they just shifted all those funds to severance and not in addition to the package. Seems weak since we’re still employees through September.

They will reap what they sow. The company doesn't give 1/4 of a rat's a-- about employees. It will come back to them tenfold.

the most difficult part for me to grasp is the "why" behind this blunder... I genuinely can't see any benefits to such communication, only drawbacks. What a terrible misstep.

It seems this is one way for a CEO to avoid taking responsibility for any mistakes or overhiring.

Observe the headline: "Taking care of our people."

It brings to mind "Advancing our amazing bet."

A discerning audience will see right through this.

And did they just admit to shifting the goalposts? "Significantly raised the bar" - retroactively?

Hmmmm???
