Beware of the job offers BNSF is offering with conditional based relocation for furloughed workers. They are doing this Northtown, MN; Belen, NM, and Argentine and various positions in North Dakota. The scam of it is that the company is offering conditional job offers via relocation packages to certain locations like the ones mentioned but never intends to honor them. Employees at those locations are already leaving due public statements by BNSF (like that of the Wilmer Wye project in Minnesota to by pass downtown and connect 2 subdivisions…per post put out by company on Indeed)and work reductions are already taking place in those areas, ie the company is re-routing work around those facilities through deferred maintenance and deferred inspections. This is the setup in Kansas City, Temple, Tulsa, North Dakota, and potentially barstow in the near future. What’s worse is those conditional job offers are attached with a 3 year hold, whereas an employee must work in that location for 3 years or pay the company back, but the company does not plan on employing the workers for 3 years in any off the locations it’s offered, and thus employees are preemptively on the hook for a relocation job offer the company has already planned to get it back at the expense of the employees. This seems like fraudulent, conditional based job offers that the company never intends to honor, and even worse, attempting to make the employee pay the company back for a fraudulent job offer BNSF never intended to honor. If it were me, I’d be contacting the department of labor for BNSF offering fraudulent conditional based employment offers in specific locations, that it does not plan to honor, and based on forcing employees to pay back relocation packages offered under those fraudulent offers, would actually be reducing employees pay to below contractual agreements.

It’s only 1300 for someone who takes it, if the company furloughs you after you relocate, you owe the company 2500, not 1300, as you weren’t wherever you relocate to long enough to keep it, just a fun fact, as the company will not employ you long enough to keep it, ie re-furloughed after relocated.
Take the half moving package only have to be there 6 months . Yes it says 2500 but after taxes about 1300 and you don’t owe them anything except an address change and a piece of mail. That’s if you want to stay with this company if not up your resume and run.
