"Octane said: “I’m going to outsource every single high paying job from North America to cheaper third world countries “"

I don't see hiring in Bulgaria happening again. Cheap is not always good - this office is disaster and we have to ack that

"If VMWare customers are keeping their portability licenses and porting their workloads to AWS, doesn't Broadcom still get the yearly license revenue? Is that so bad?"

The next step after that is to port their workloads to AWS native, and AWS will have tons of free resources to help them do it.

no matter how much you earn nothing will change for you

The financial security for me and my family has changed dramatically. Take it while you can, it won’t last long and will shorten my retirement age.

I can su-k up working for a dictator for a while to have this upside. It’s not like I’m making a 10 year commitment to the cult of Hock.

This is a simple transactional engagement to increase my wealth such that I can have even more choice to work where I want once I get laid off, which is inevitable since I’m in the US and Hockey Tan will outsource everyone.

Dolla Dolla bill y’all.

Wake up to reality mates. vmware management spent lavishly and focused on DEI/ESG/Pods/2030...instead of building world class products. One senior climate tzar even attended Davos climate summit using company expenses.....what you sow is what you reap...now get back to work (=don't work) and enjoy till RSU vesting.

Stonk price & short term quarterly results, all that matter

Not products
Not customer
Not employee
Not long term future

Who cares, Broadcom is not a long term company anyway. Collect RSUs until we can

Maybe I'm missing something. If VMWare customers are keeping their portability licenses and porting their workloads to AWS, doesn't Broadcom still get the yearly license revenue? Is that so bad?

Had a few large (20k+ VMs) customers that couldn't justify 5 times TCO moving to Azure and now Azure is only double their annual spend with the new VMW/BCM subscription and they are seriously looking at moving from their on-prem to Azure.

So?

Why this incessant need to deliver bad news? Aren't people stressed enough already?

Of course MS are happy that people are moving to Azure and, much like other Media outlets, these articles are just fluff designed to tap into your bias and have you share them for clicks.

Welcome to the Internet, please take a seat. A 5 year old will be along to show you around, shortly.
