Thread regarding Intuit Inc. layoffs

"Underperformers"

If 1,050 of those being laid off are underperformers, what are the remaining 750? Collateral damage?

To be honest, I didn't even see that many underperforms let go. I know a few and they're all chummy with management and have no fears about their future. It's the rest of us who should always be worried.

How Intuit takes care of its people:

It's CEO advertises to the world that those they are letting go are not meeting expectations.

You cannot make this up: it's from official Intuit comms.

If this is not punching down for no reason, I don't know what is...

- Taking care of our people
It is never easy to say goodbye to our colleagues and friends and we are committed to treating everyone who has been impacted by these changes with the compassion and respect they deserve.
Let me first start with who is impacted by these decisions:
We’ve significantly raised the bar on our expectations of employee performance, resulting in approximately 1,050 employees leaving the company who are not meeting expectations and who we believe will be more successful outside of Intuit.

Underperforming? Where’s the evidence of that? Why have a check-in tool and monthly 1:1’s if the end result is going to be a decision that comes from above my manager who did not rate me as Does Not Meets Expectations?

Also, Sasan’s words to keep folks employed so they can collect their IPI bonus (bonus for work delivered in the past year) is a farce since the rating comes with almost a guarantee of NO bonus for the work performed in the past year.

The seemingly generous severance is now not notably more than a full bonus payout.

The guise of being an employee first company is just that, a guise!

That's going to be a problem if hiring manager sees Intuit on the resume = "Underperformer"

Why need ex-MAANG and IITans to write tax software ? It is just hilarious. That too 18200 of them. Realistically we need only 5000 employees in Intuit. Let the layoff cycle continue....

Honestly why you need 18200 employees in this company ? Need some more haircut for sure. Why you need top tech talents to write expensive Tax software ?

Some underperformers got lucky simply because they are in Atl.
