Verizon Rebadged All Hands Call Today was a warning shot

So here is what I got out of the call (my director also held a meeting to clarify). We are 9 months in and the big re-org is coming. “Centers of Excellence” being opened in India and Philippines to take our jobs. We will be notified in the near future that we have 60 days to find a stinky HCL job at half our present salary if we want or take the Verizon Severance Package (35 weeks pay, STI, Retention Bonus, Unused Vacation Pay and 35 weeks paid benefits). Did I miss anything?

Post implementation support in India at $15/ hr. If you’re a Vz Enterprise or Medium Business account, say goodbye to that service support you had. But of course you’re paying your same premiums on your business services and lost a whole lot of support.

I didn't remember an option to keep people for 2 years and thereby remove the Verizon severance match. I was so sure of a November layoff. That's scary to a person who would be paid a year of severance to be laid off. (The numbers might lead to keeping that person for another year since they're paying anyway.) Bummer. That was going to be the one bright side of all this.

This is not speculation. It will happen. And you are correct, HCL will fail on this project.

@ftqq won't happen. HCL can't find qualified candidates to take the work. Other accounts are falling apart as we speak as a result

All VZ rebadged employees will be fired and the work moved to India (who have not even started any knowledge transfer). It will happen in waves. Wave 1 rebadged will be gone in the next 6-12 months. Everyone will eventually be fired.

Similar on my HCL rebadged VZ team. The replacements are young, slow and inexperienced. I guess they “could” get rid of us, but I don’t see it happening in the next few months. I think they will push this to the end of year 2 so they don’t have to pay us the Verizon severance.

If you have a chance and would come back as contractor do not come back to HCL. Maybe try TCS or Infosys. hCL are abusive and unfair. No training it’s the worse company I ever worked for

I'm rebadged HCL from State Farm. We are now 16 months into our 1 year transition. We also were under the impression we would need to get HCL jobs after 1 year . Some were forced out .

It turns out the HCL replacements overstated their abilities and/or HCL didn't understand the work they were replacing. Therefore, they haven't replaced us as quickly as they expected.

I personally benefited from the deal as my team was very short staffed to begin with, we received "adequate" replacements, and now I work about 4 hours a week while my replacements do all the work.

Once they decide to move me off the account, I will retire .

The fact that they're offering you severance at all... I am a rebadge with another group and they specifically mentioned HCL doesn't do severance
