Do they normally send out the invite the day before, the morning of or a random time during the day of?

I got an invite to a conference call early AM from an organizer I'd never heard of, with no title or org structure in Exchange. Not sure how many of us were on the call, but it was a long list -- all of us muted and simply informed we no longer had a job. Access was terminated immediately after the call.
Time of day depends on how many in your area to get thru. Larger layoffs takes more hours on D-day to complete.
They can let you go while you're on PTO or leave. During the 4/18 RIF, this happened to several of my colleagues. They received a call from their manager on their personal cell phones to inform them of the RIF.
If you’re on a dept meeting invite or all hands, you’re fine. If you get a call for a meeting with your manager, they will insist you attend, you might be gone. Maybe call in sick 7/18, they can’t let you go while you’re out of the office. At least make them have to deal with it a few days later 😂
Quick 15-minute meeting invite for morning of lay-off. You may be in a small group with two others if mass layoff.
I was part of the 4/18 RIF and I did not get a formal invite. My manager sent an IM via Teams asking if I "had a minute" to talk which wasn't unusual for him to do. He called and gave me the standard monologue...I was surprised but not surprised at the same time. Salary Grade 30 with great annual reviews and over 18 years with the company and well respected among my colleagues but also knew I was on a sinking ship.
I just rcvd a random call from upper management in the early morning. It was obvious that she was reading a script and couldn't answer any questions.
Sometimes it’s in early afternoon.
It was the day of for me.
Seems to be morning of, on 4/18 invites went out right before 8 am.....
