They took a $7 million tax credit to not lay people and they don’t have to pay it back. Greedy people with the cost of living now and they cut us out like dogs it’s unacceptable and disgusting. I am sick and tired of these corporations taking us for granted even though they preach family and team. It’s all BS we need to ask to open an investigation they did NOT make $4 billion in profits it was $1 billion.

20% reduction in force. 2,200 - 2,400 let go regardless of how well one preformed. Myself, 4-President Club winner with a quota of 1.2 m. Consistently 80 + % of plan. Although HR was trying to show not age related, I don't believe it. Cleaning house to prep for a dealer transition of CSA accounts. PSA - start your exit plan!

It's been just over a month since I was laid off. The shock factor and what happened lasted a few weeks. I've spoken to a few colleagues still employed and there is massive confusion and chaos as to if they are next to go, (i.e. exit strategy). They are being told they need to spend time in the office going forward (To keep an eye on everyone). The truth is a 20 plus % reduction in work force from the Director level down, all ages and job types estimated at 2,200 to 2,500 FTE's in the US. Word has it CFS is next. There have been several demotions in the executive jobs including the former President of CSA to VP. In my many years working in small and large organizations, I was blown away by the large amount of management layers like I witness at CSA, CFS and CUSA. The arrogance and dismissive manor people treat the field (Sales and service) is incredible. I was obvious to me since COVID, customers and prospects changed their buying behaviors towards print. The "Annual All Company Kick-offs TEAMS meetings" was totally misleading in that senior management would say "Print is back!" No, the fact is companies had their employees working remotely which changed printing altogether. Management tried pulling the wool over our eyes. Guess what, we are smarter then that and new better. Look at all the other company layoffs in the past 2-years since COVID. The business world has changed and Canon is just now figuring this out. All the "C" levels care about is to make their 6 - figure bonuses!

The CEO will get his bonus while others get unemployment. Top guys a bean counter which was very apparent at the all company meeting. Nothing matters but the numbers. You’d think the powers that be would send something out.

All will be replaced by cheap DEI hires that won't know what they're doing but check all the "right boxes"

I still find it unprofessional that they had to do it over teams. I can’t even say goodbye to my fellow coworkers. They didn’t tell me I could come back and take all my stuff in office. Just a little mad over that. Otherwise I knew my time was coming.

This seems to be similar to other Print OEMs where print volumes and profitability have dived and not recovered. I suspect they're doing the same as others like Xerox and Fujifilm, and cutting away most of their print business.

No idea what or why they are cutting or even cutting so deep.
Its sad they were about to lead the industry.

So there are 5 “PDP” ratings. Know you can rank in the 1% in April and be canned in July. I wish you all well but look at for yourselves.

Pathetic since some were offered severance within the same department and others were not.
