Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

As a former employee that was taken out by a layoff where it was evident by the elimination of my boss that they had no idea what they were doing. It literally takes all I can muster not to put crying laughing emoji on LinkedIn everytime I see someone talk about the exciting opportunity that awaits. Staples provided me with quite a long career and several positions before my elimination. Something to consider widely before you apply to return or work here is that this company has been off the rails since the private equity that purchased Staples took over and started pulling profit for themselves. Noone is safe and you can change the name of said positions to get around the six month freeze from layoffs to get around hiring but SP continues to pay ridiculous amounts of money to consultant firm BCG where the laugh is on SP. In the more than 10 years i have seen them take ideas that were removed and recycle them and sell them new lead to failure then and rinse and repeat. When most companies are allowing remote, Staples thinks they get better performance when your in office? Nope! There are studies that show with the right tools in place can ne more productivite then in office. Diversity while important shouldnt be the reason you promote someone. Hold your leaders responsible for their teams and ensure those leaders who arent inspiring or assisting their teams out the door. If you chose to dismiss someone why are most being rehired for lower pay positions? It was evident that there is an agenda and while I don't work for the "easy" company anymore, I have respect at a company that reassures their team in many ways that we are more than Just financial gain and numbers. How and why would anyone want to work their as--s off and be kicked to the curb because their number came up?Before you invest and give 100 percent, update your resume and start getting your network because many will share the job market is a very different beast. It took almost six months to get a new job with all the AI being used. Find a company that won't lie to your face and deny responsibility as to why expectations are so high because there was a billion dollars taken out as payment to SP. Google search and you will see. Protect your investment and your future before one of the two or more annual hunger games begins. There's already been one this year if not more. Don't wait for them to draw your number.
