Given the recent post about 2u bringing laid off employees back, does anyone have any experience or success requesting part time employment?

I haven't gone all the way to HR, but every manager I've ever had has basically told me it's a no-go. I know of one single exception, and it was for a new mother returning from maternity leave around 2019. I'd be curious in the current climate if they'd be more willing, because I'm desperate for a change. I would happily forfeit my health insurance to work 3 days a week, or 5 half-ish days. If I were you, I'd cut out the middle man and have this conversation directly with HR. And please report back, I would love to hear what they say!
