Reorg of CT&O Coming

In a meeting yesterday my boss mentioned that the new CTO said that a reorg was already in the works and could happen as soon as two weeks and there would be "job impacts".

And although you should always take everything you see here with a grain of salt, take this with an even more big grain of salt, I think she may have had a slip of some kind and said that even though she's been here for a few years that it would be strange to be working with a new team, and then stumbled and back tracked to "or it would be weird if even just a couple of the team was replaced with offshore." Just seemed... off?

Sorry to hear @1vye. Highly suggest not sticking around with Accenture too long if you can help it. The rumor mill there is that they'll squeeze the information out of you before letting you go as well.

What a sad day.

If they're letting most (nearly all) of CTO go by October, will they really need all those managers?

The offshore to India will be a failure. I’ve heard everything from exotic birds cawing in the background to rooms full of children being noisy. BB&T tried that some time ago and ripped out shortly after. However, that was when the C-suite cared about the bank. This new pack of id--ts will probably double-down.

@1hjt+1tr6a2Cw That is the goal of every new management hire. Many of us have been trying to tell you, but too many people whining instead of being happy they are earning a paycheck.

Newbie CTO, reorg, imagine that. Just another patsy put in place too handle Bill Beau and Joes latest tech innovation. 5 years and nothing has changed except the players, same game.

LOL it's so predictable (and tiresome). The only thing new execs know how to do is "reorg". Then they fake it for a year or two before moving on, and a new exec is appointed, and, you guessed it, time for another reorg!

Yes, there are explicit goals to replace as many team members as possible with offshore (cheap) Indian labor. Gotta hit those objectives or else no exec bonus. Gotta save any extra money for share buybacks. We are like cattle, easily objectified and sent to sla-ghter if it provides a better short term gain than keeping us alive. Follow the money.
