I lost perspective. I’m so stressed from everyday work and a toxic environment, and so anxious from the anticipation of layoffs. I hate Sunday evenings, I hate Monday mornings. All my weekends are ruined from lingering stress and anxiety. At this point being laid off might be a blessing in disguise.

I would leave then. Life is too short
Sounds like the toxic IT environment. Nothing like the sweet anticipation of a Monday morning under the reign of clueless management to really ruin your Sunday night. Your stress levels are probably the only thing in the office that gets consistent updates. And hey, maybe that layoff will finally give you the break your clueless leaders never managed to schedule.
I got laid off in August, crushing as I was there 16 years. Found a job with a smaller company, way less stress, very limited politics. Just a get sh*t done type of vibe.
It will be. Let me put this in perspective for you. I resigned, without notice. I found another position earning much more than I was at Optum, without the quota pressure, which was completely bogus, AND the toxicity of the supes, managers and upper management. So chin up, you'll be fine. Quiet quit, hang in, let it work FOR YOU, then collect UC and find something wonderful.
"This is nothing. You should see what 2026 brings. tuck away some cash and plenty of emergency food and water. Its happening."
Why hold back? You're on an anonymous website. Tell us what you know!
Unless, of course, you're just fearmongering.

The sweet scent of workplace despair mixed with a dash of existential dread. It's almost poetic, really. Sunday evenings and Monday mornings have become the stuff of nightmares, thanks to our leadership's unmatched talent in creating a toxic wasteland.
It's truly a marvel how they've managed to turn every workday into a stress-induced carnival of anxiety. And the anticipation of layoffs? What a delightful cherry on top. They say stress builds character, but at this rate, we'll all be eligible for sainthood.
Being laid off might actually be the golden ticket out of this soul-crushing circus. Imagine, a life without pointless meetings, micromanaging, and leadership that couldn't lead a parade. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? So here's to hoping the next round of layoffs brings us the sweet release we deserve. Cheers to our illustrious leaders for making us long for unemployment - what a legacy....
