How is everyone making out with HR?

HR is there to support the employer not the employee. Do not discuss anything with HR!
If you’re in the USA I can’t help with legal advice ….. look up “Employment Lawyer” they should give you a free consultation that shouldn’t take long, if you hire them they will probably ask for a retainer of about $1000 and if it’s a bigger law firm they will assign you a jr to handle your case at a much lower hourly rate, just don’t be calling or emailing them everyday cause they will bill you 15 minutes each time. I am so glad I had advice, it really helped get a fair deal in the end.
Can you tell us the law firm in case we need to hire a lawyer? Rather work with someone whose dealt with this than explaining situation to someone new.
So has any one gotten paid from their rif package WITHOUT a lawyer? Or is HR really that terrible that we need to pay some one, without the benefit of an income, to get what we are promised?
I mean holy sh-t, it isn’t rocket science. Why are we the ones laid off when they are too dense to accomplish this simple task?
If you don’t understand or feel your RIF package is unfair get legal advice. I hired a jr lawyer in a highly respected law firm. Everything was handled, HR dealt with the law firm, not me, even though it took 6 months to finalize, it was worth every penny. It could have been much easier if we were union, it all would have been in the contract. That said, if we were union the new guys would have been laid off first and I would be still working …… for me, it’s ok
I have had to contact HR after, they did get me what I needed in a timely manner, but it was not about the RIF package, it was just tax forms and address changes.
The minute that you ask HR something that requires a thought, you’re sc--wed. They just ignore your email.
Their tactic is to get you to sign the packet and be done or you won’t get anything because hr is too d-mb
You can send a request to this email address and they will create an incident and email you back everyday, it’s probably outsourced HR people, but they do respond.

Who? There is an he department that’s supposed to respond to us? News to me.
They are as silent as bodies in a cemetery
After 18 months I am finally done with everything NCR, Don’t expect them to really help you, but they are pretty responsive if you create online HR request for tax forms or address correction type things. I am just glad I have nothing to do with them anymore, have them decades of dedicated service, all good reviews…… then terminated on a teams call in 5 minutes.
