I heard that for return to office they plan on assigning work styles (in office, office-centric or remote) to roles vs teammates. Once they do this they're going to look at how teammates map to the roles. They may not initially ask teammates to relocate or layoff any teammates because they can't align to the work style for the role they're in, but I can see that as a natural progression. At a minimum if someone is working as a remote teammate for a role that should be office-centric then the replacement resource could not be remote and would have to be hired as in the office 4 days a week.
What are your thoughts? As someone who's current 'remote' I'm concerned as my role will likely be designated as office-centric and I'm worried about how long I have before being forced out for not being able to adhere to the work style for my role.
