3M Seems to be doing layoffs in smaller groups so they can keep things quiet. If they go over a certain number of employees affected, I believe they have to notify the state and it becomes news.

I can report that the entire group of 540 were NOT all terminated…3M is getting increasingly sneaky with these meetings because the invite went out to people that were both terminated AND safe. I can say that I’ve worked with a lot of the people terminated over the years and 3M is getting rid of some genuinely amazing people that are EXPERTS in their areas and actually get things done. 3M is kneecapping itself AGAIN! This was a chance to get rid of higher level id--ts (You know who you are, and I hope you read this and feel shame that you’re still around. But y’all probably lack the humanity to feel shame). North Americans (U.S. and Can) were majority hit. Pricing, MDM/CDM, POS/CB, Finance, etc. They cut the knowledge/experience and left the transactional employees.
Is that 540 to be terminated ?
In the ECO meeting today Chris L, said they would NOT “net out” the head count reductions we would have over the next few weeks.
And followed up today’s meeting with an invite to roughly 540 ppl which is scheduled for 7am Thursday July 11th! I wonder if that group is the HIT LIST, or the ones that will remain. Does anyone have any insights?
Not being announced openly, the past few weeks joining meeting have been told different people were eliminated. It was shocking. More to come with another reorganization in ECO
