Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

PWC Layoffs

I’ve heard that PWC is in the process of shifting US and international jobs to Mexico. Contractor layoffs have already begun. Full-timers are next. Is this true?

I heard this will be a multi-year effort to cut costs as MX hourly rates are roughly half of those in the US while time differences between India and China cause project speed issues.

I heard that in the US, PWC is trying to keep this under the radar by telling contractors to take a 2-month “furlough” due to “new government regulations”. They will not be asking most of the contractors to return after the 2 months. Full-timers will go next.

If the above is true, here’s a bit of editorial:

PWC partners, how many more yachts do you need at the expense of American worker jobs? I wonder if you think of us as you slip on that new Rolex or buy that 4th car. Gordon Gekko.

PWC US job seekers and current employees beware - your replacement doesn’t need to cross our Southern border into the US to take your job. The train is heading in the other direction.

Not all full timers are being targeted but they are "streamlining" FTE positions; those will take longer since getting rid of contractors is easier than getting rid of FTE's
