Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Imagine a world where the Top Walgreens Company Leaders were also subjected to the same aggressive Pharmacist metrics they implemented

The CPO recently stated that the company needs a lot of improvement and reported he also has been with the company for 30 years.

In my current pharmacist position with the company, if you do not meet aggressive metrics on a monthly basis, you will be coached or perhaps terminated. Pharmacist are coached at least once a month in my division.

You cannot last 30 years with the company if you do not meet metrics

It is clear that upper management is not subject to this same scrutiny and tight metrics that the same pharmacist are subjected too that are keeping the company alive.

I would challenge any upper management position to volunteer to work ONE entire week in the Pharmacy Call Center (HOP, Clinicians, MTM, CMR) on the phones.

What will you experience? You will be required to make between 150 to 250 individual calls in one 8 hour period, so be prepared to not take an unassigned break, as it is not allowed, unless you need one 5 minute additional personal break/day. Do not make any mistakes, as you are required to follow SOPs. Calls are recorded and graded.

This is the company you have created for Pharmacists.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No he-l below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to ki-l or die for
And no religion too

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Re: I would absolutely LOVE....2 weeks is generous. I'd say more like 2 days max in this snake pit of a call center before they'd meltdown.

I would absolutely LOVE to see an executive try to function in the same system THEY created. There's no way they could do it. I'd give it a couple of weeks and they'd crumble like a house of cards.

Very interesting.

I know someone who served 36 years, then got promoted even higher for 8 years, and is now serving the highest position for the past 4 years.

Yet, he has done nothing in all that time. Zero problems solved and he has created new conflicts.

So true. The CPO is like a big, soul-less factory where the threat of termination is ever present. Dismal work experience. From what I remember, the personal breaks only allowed for 2 minutes/day. 5 minutes seems generous by Walgreen standards. Those employee surveys must be working!
