Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I’ve noticed a pattern.

So a non-US holiday roles around and you get people who take off. Ok, makes sense.
“Banking holiday over here in EMEA, taking off, no choice, its happening.” Sure, why not.

A US holiday roles around, banking or not, and you get… panic from non-US employees which comes up with rushed emails, meeting invites, ad hoc tasks at the last minute and questions over work flow on the day of the US holiday. All out of fear that something will be missed and\or go wrong and no one in the US is here to cover it.

Its a one sided sl--t. For holidays…..a non-US employee, its happening, tough if you don’t like it. A US employee though can’t deliver the same message it seems.

Sounds like any day I take off! No matter what I write up or how I prepare, nothing is covered. When I return, have that to contend with as well as the current workload.

Not in the tech team where I work it's the opposite.

Any time there is a public holiday in EMEA, you know it's going to be interrupted by being called into something as NAM team can't handle it, or more commonly the NAM contingent either postpone or delay , and then it becomes an avoidable firefight for those returning
